Dense water formations in the NWMed: from the physical forcings to the biogeochemical consequences
Call for Papers - Submission deadline extended to 01.12.2016
This joint special section of JGR-Atmospheres & JGR-Oceans will compile the results of the June 2012 to September 2013 observation and modelling effort conducted by the MerMeX, HyMeX and MOOSE components of the MISTRALS programme. Call for papers and manuscript submission on JGR-Atmospheres & JGR-Oceans websites.

HyMeX in brief
HyMeX aims at a better understanding, quantification and modelling of the hydrological cycle in the Mediterranean, with emphasis on the predictability and evolution of extreme weather events, inter-annual to decadal variability of the Mediterranean coupled system, and associated trends in the context of global change. The multidisciplinary research and associated database developed within HyMeX aim to improve the observational and modelling systems, better predict extreme events, simulate the long-term water-cycle, and provide guidelines for adaptation measures.
