- Black abalone (Haliotis cracherodii)
- White abalone (Haliotis sorenseni)
- Blue Whale (Balaenoptera musculus)
- Fin Whale (Balaenoptera physalus)
- Sei Whale (Balaenoptera borealis)
- Humpback Whale (Megaptera novaeangliae)
- North Pacific right whale (Eubalaena japonica)
- Sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus)
- Killer whale (Orcinus orca)
- Gray whale (Eschrichtius robustus)
- Loggerhead turtle (Caretta caretta)
- Green turtle (Chelonia mydas)
- Olive ridley turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea)
- Hawksbill turtle (Eretmochelys imbricata)
- Leatherback turtle (Dermochelys coriacea)
- Scalloped hammerhead shark (Sphyrna lewini)
Threatened
- Green sturgeon (Acipenser medirostris)- Southern DPS

Note: To be eligible for funding through the Species Recovery Grants program, species listed under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) must be covered by the State's section 6 agreement. Proposed and candidate species that occur in the State do not need to be listed on the agreement to be eligible for funding.
