NCEI publishes numerous assessments and reports each year with collaborators all over the world

NCEI publishes the most recent national and international reports on the state of the climate as well as various other peer-reviewed papers and articles.

  • Current Publications
  • Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society State of the Climate Report
Every year, NCEI leads an international effort to develop the peer-reviewed State of the Climate Report, which has been an annual supplement to Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society (BAMS) since its introduction (as “Climate Assessment”) in 1991. The report summarizes the global and regional climate of the preceding calendar year and places it into historical context. Recent editions cover more than 40 Essential Climate Variables, with input from more than 350 authors from nearly 50 nations.
  • National Climate Assessments
The U.S. Global Change Research Program (USGCRP) works to assess the impacts of global climate change on the United States by producing National Climate Assessments and other reports. The National Climate Assessment summarizes the science of climate change and the impacts of climate change on the United States, now and in the future.
