South Atlantic Operations Branch
The South Atlantic Branch works with the South Atlantic Fishery Management Council (South Atlantic Council) to manage fisheries off the coasts of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Working with the South Atlantic Council, the South Atlantic Branch develops fishery management plans and amendments. The South Atlantic Branch coordinates public review and comments during regulation and amendment development; and issues fishing closures to prevent overfishing if landings approach annual catch limits.
