Using Braided Funding Strategies to Advance Employer Hiring Initiatives that Include People with Disabilities

This report explores real-world examples of the effective braiding of resources that advanced employer hiring and resulted in positive employment outcomes for people with disabilities. The report examines the use of braiding resources, which for the purposes of the report, is defined as the access to and coordination of multiple sources of funding to provide services and supports needed by people with disabilities to obtain and retain employment. The NTAR Leadership Center (National Technical Assistance and Research Center to Promote Leadership for Increasing the Employment and Economic Independence of Adults with Disabilities) was a training and technical assistance center funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy.
