Did you know Thor’s a regular in New Mexico where he produces the most brilliant light shows that you can see for free on Your Public Lands! Here, a lightning storm is illuminating Angel Peak in the darkness. Angel Peak ScenicArea, located just off of Hwy 550, is 10,000 acres of rugged and beautiful terrain recognized for its scenic and scientific wonders. Located in the Farmington, New Mexico area, it is a great place to explore, day or night. Seeing the photos is amazing, but seeing it firsthand is an experience everyone should have. Just be safe and head up to the Farmington Field Office to plan your trip to see Angel Peak and all the other amazing locations public lands in the area. G-G-G-Ghoooost towns sprinkle the west including New Mexico. One such town is the skeletal remains of the silver mining town of Lake Valley, located to the northwest from Las Cruces. Established in 1878 and rising almost overnight to a population of 4,000, the frontier town blossomed until the silver was exhausted. Today you can explore this ghost town that is managed by the Bureau of Land Management .
