NAN-2016-01391-UCO - 12/21/2016: The applicant, City of Plattsburgh, has requested a Department of the Army permit to facilitate the expansion of an existing mooring facility and establish marina services located on Lake Champlain (Cumberland Bay), at 2 Dock Street, in the City of Plattsburgh, Clinton County, New York.

NAN-2016-00994-EYR - 12/1/2016: The permit applicant, Town of North Hempstead, has requested Department of the Army authorization for 10-year maintenance dredging at an existing boat ramp at Manorhaven Town Park and its entrance channel into Manhasset Bay, both in the Village Manorhaven, Town of North Hempstead, Nassau County, New York. All resultant dredged material will be placed either upland of the Plane of Spring High Water at Manorhaven Park Town Beach or, should any dredged material be deemed unsuitable for upland beach placement, be transported to the mainland for upland disposal. The stated purpose of this project is to maintain the entrance channel to Manhasset Bay at Manorhaven Town Park to provide safe navigation for recreational marine vessels, as well as to provide sand nourishment for the Manorhaven Town Park shoreline for erosion and flood protection.

NAN-2016-00885-EPI - 11/22/2016: The New York City Police Department (NYPD) Launch Repair Shop-Marina is located on the northwestern corner of Randalls Island, immediately north of the Harlem River span of the Triborough Bridge. The rectangular-shaped marina requires maintenance dredging to restore the basin to an operational depth of six (6) feet below Mean Low Water (MLW) (-8.41 feet North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88)). The marina is used to dock, fuel, maintain and repair NYPD and various New York City and State agency vessels, including the New York Fire Department, New York State Parks, and the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. The operational area of the facility is approximately 33,000 square feet, with 24,000 square feet of open water. Approximately 1,500 cubic yards of material is proposed for removal with subsequent 1 to 2 year maintenance cycles not to exceed 2,400 cubic yards per operation including 1-foot of over depth allowance. The total area of in-water work will be less than 24,000 square feet.

NAN-2016-01252-EYR - 11/17/2016: The permit applicant, Suffolk County Department of Public Works, has requested Department of the Army authorization for 10-year maintenance dredging in Sag Harbor Bay west of Long Wharf and northeast of the Sag Harbor-North Haven Bridge in the Village of Sag Harbor, Town of East Hampton, Suffolk County, New York. All resultant dredged material will be placed along the Sag Harbor Bay shoreline at the northern terminus of Havens Beach Road. The stated purpose of this project is to provide safe navigation for recreational marine vessels transiting between Sag Harbor Cove and Long Wharf as well as to provide sand nourishment for the Sag Harbor Bay shoreline for erosion and flood protection.

NAN-2016-01170-EPI - 11/8/2016: The applicant, Center Point Terminal Newark, LP, has requested Department of the Army authorization to perform dredging with ten-year maintenance with disposal of the dredged material at an upland disposal facility. The project is located at the Navigation Berthing Area, Center Point Terminal, 678 Doremus Ave., City of Newark, Essex County, New Jersey. Dredging is proposed in an approximate 250-foot-wide by 900-foot-long berthing area. The historic depth has been maintained at -21.0 Mean Low Water (MLW) for previous dredging events (most recently in 2013 – USACE Permit # 2008-00314-M3). The approximate dredge volume at the navigation berthing area is 5000 cubic yards. The dredged material will be transported to a qualified dewatering and treatment facility, where stabilization will occur (usually mixing with Portland cement) with final placement at a State approved site.
