- January 19, 2017: The Alexandria division of the Court will be closed on Friday, January 20 (Inauguration Day). The Richmond division will close at 3:00 PM on this same day. The Newport News and Norfolk divisions will be open for business as usual.

to Attorneys: Effective October 3, 2016, attorneys
are required to electronically submit civil initiating documents to a shell case

- May 23, 2016: The Court will be implementing a new electronic CJA vouchering system on June 6, 2016, called "eVoucher", which is a web-based application that provides CJA panel attorneys the ability to electronically create and process CJA vouchers and related documents. - April 8, 2016 - Alexandria Division: Effective 4/7/2016 and until further notice, the jury room attached to courtroom 401 will be open during business hours for attorneys to use as an attorney work room.
