Florida Geographic Data Lilbrary - GIS data available in FGDL is collected from various state, federal, and other agencies ("data sources") who are data stewards, producers, or publishers. 
Florida International University, Map Imagery User Services (MIUS)  -offers where to find print and digital maps and data, introduction to ArcGIS and introduction to Census mapping.
Geography Network  - "The Geography Network is a global network of geographic information users and providers. Through the Geography Network, you can access many types of geographic content including dynamic maps, downloadable data, and more advanced Web services."federal, and other agencies ("data sources") who are data stewards, producers, or publishers. 
National Weather Service GIS Portal - new
NOAA Satellite and Information Service - Metadata Entrprise Resource Management Aid (MERMAid)
U.S. Census Bureau - offers many free data sets for the 2000 census, 2002 Economic census, American Community Survey plus interactive Internet  tools such as Data Ferrett. 
U.S. Geological Survey   - Global  GIS - The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and The American Geological Institute (AGI) announced a cooperative agreement that will focus on making the USGS Global Geographic Information System (GIS) database readily available to educators and the general public in the form of coverages of elevation, landcover, seismicity, and resources of minerals and energy at a nominal scale of 1:1 million. The GIS, which will run on the included Environmental Systems Research Institute's (ESRI)  ArcView Data Publisher software, will be produced both by region on seven CD-ROM's and on a single DVD.
