Utah Resource Advisory Council

The Utah RAC is a 15-member advisory panel which provides advice and recommendations to the BLM on land use planning and management of the National System of Public Lands issues for 22.9 million acres of Federal public lands in Utah.

The RAC meets one to four times per year for one to two days.  Membership includes a cross section of Utahn’s around the State representing energy, tourism and commercial recreation interests; environmental, archeological or historic interests; and elected officials, and the public at large. Council members are selected for their ability to provide informed, objective advice on a broad array of public lands issues and their commitment to collaboration in seeking solutions to those issues.

Members are appointed to three-year terms and may be reappointed for one additional term. Council members must be Utah residents. Members serve without salary, but are reimbursed travel and per diem expenses.

Meetings are open to the public; however, transportation, meals and lodging are the responsibility of the participating public.
