Step up: Don’t be afraid to be a Mitchell, Doolittle, or Arnold

What service before self truly means
Think of what you might have to offer -- time, effort or skill. If there is something you are passionate about, harness it, support someone in need and make a difference; keep the spirit of service before self, alive.

An Airman’s evolution
Swimming has never been a problem for me in the past, but this time was different.
As I walked out of the locker room and saw the line of Soldiers and Sailors waiting and watching as fellow participants struggled to complete the swim, a feeling of anxiousness started to overwhelm me.

A same-sex relationship
In light of June’s LGBT Pride Month, the Air Force has made strides in how we regard these individuals, as both military members and human beings, since the repeal of the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell policy in 2011. What used to be taboo has now become widely accepted by the Defense Department.
