About the Partnership on Employment & Accessible Technology (PEAT)

A man using crutches stands in front of a counter with a monitor on the desk. The Partnership on Employment & Accessible Technology (PEAT) is a multi-faceted initiative to foster collaboration and action around accessible technology in the workplace. Guided by a consortium of policy and technology leaders, PEAT works to help employers, IT companies, and others to understand why it pays to build and buy accessible technology, and how to go about doing so. PEAT is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) and is managed by the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America (RESNA).

What Does PEAT Do?

PEAT is committed to dialogue, collaboration, and action. Our three action units work together to foster thought leadership, develop and disseminate public education tools, and drive solutions-oriented policy reform:

  • Web Resources
PEATworks.org offers a central hub of online resources and opportunities for collaboration to employers and IT companies interested in adopting accessible technology as part of everyday business practices. Sign up for our distribution list to keep up to date on PEAT's latest activities and newest resources.

  • PEAT Network
The PEAT Network is a connected and vibrant community that exchanges information and success stories, and generates new ideas for technology leaders, employers, and policymakers. Learn more about how your company/organization can join.

  • PEAT Policy Think Tank
This working group brings together subject matter experts and relevant industry and employer partners nationwide to identify trends and investigate new opportunities for collaboration. PEAT then leverages this knowledge to develop and disseminate content to educate PEAT stakeholders and inform future project efforts.
