Request a Data Set

As part of our mission to advance the use of child health data, the Data Resource Center for Child and Adolescent Health offers enhanced analytical data sets based on National Survey of Children’s Health (NSCH), National Survey of Children with Special Health Care Needs (NS-CSHCN), National Health Interview Survey (NHIS), and Survey of Pathways to Diagnosis and Services (Pathways) interview data files provided to the public by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS).

DRC Indicator Data Sets include all records and variables from the NCHS public use data files for the surveys. Additional content includes dozens of variables corresponding to measures of children's health status, health care quality and system performance featured in the DRC online data query. Also provided when possible are variables used for DRC subpopulation comparisons and analyses by any state, District of Columbia or HRSA region. SPSS, SAS and STATA datasets are available, and variables are formatted and clearly labeled.

To request a data set from any NSCH, NS-CSHCN, NHIS, or Pathways survey, please use our data set request form.

Once we receive your request, we will send you a Data Use Agreement. Usually we are able to process requests within 5 business days after receiving a completed Data Use Agreement form.
