OIG Budget

The FY 2017 budget request for OIG includes $419 million to strengthen oversight of HHS programs. With these resources, OIG is charged with overseeing nearly $1 trillion dollars in HHS spending, which represents approximately a quarter of every Federal dollar spent, covering programs ranging from health insurance to clinical research and epidemiology, public health services, and education.
