At best, so-called leaders have stood aside instead of standing for the men and women that serve as those soldiers have had their reputations dragged through th...e mud, been forced to defend their innocence at great cost, and lost livelihoods over the G-RAP debacle. At worst, those in the highest ranks have used this as an opportunity to feed their own political ambitions, bullying and coercing soldiers to sit in silence as their lives are destroyed. This mistreatment and dishonor is disgusting. You can do better. The process of getting enlisted took some time for me due to MEPS and technology, but I made it. My recruiter worked with me until I was able to pass the asvab ...with a great score. He helped me get the job I wanted. He filled me in on everything I needed to know. I leave for basic July 12th. And that's all thanks to Staff Sargent Olceski! I'm private hunter and I'm going to be in 88M See More

Hi All - this is a memory from 3 years ago, after the flood in 2013.... I wanted to thank-you all again for your help and support during that time. The National Guard will always have a special place in the hearts of the people of Pinewood Springs: I was sitting at a table today at The Colorado Cherry Company with my friend Lee Williams and about 9 members of the National Guard, many of whom have been with us in Pinewood Springs, Colorado since the very beginning. I don't know ranks and titles, but I heard (Col) Tran say "In the 27 years I've been building roads, I have gotten the most enjoyment and satisfaction from this assignment." When I asked him why this was different, a few of them chimed in. "It is because we get to see who we are working for. We got to help the school children cross the trail that the community built so they could get to school. This could have been our home, our neighbors and wives, husbands and children. That's how this felt. And, you have made us part of your neighborhood and community." "We did this in our country, on our soil, for our people. This is why we put these uniforms on every day." Wow. • 2LT Nelson – As your Commanding General, I respect the challenge you... are taking on. As I signed your request to branch Infantry, I remembered back. You, like any Infantry Officer, will be facing long, dark nights and very sore feet, in the field. But after the hardship, comes the gratification of leading the greatest, trained, and equipped light infantry in the world. I look forward to seeing your back in our Infantry battalion, as a Platoon Leader. Good luck and God speed. BG Don Laucirica, Commanding General, Colorado Army National Guard See More
