The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is partnering with the New Jersey State Department of Environmental Protection to carry out a Feasibility Study to identify various flood risk management alternatives for communities along the Rahway River Basin, with a specific emphasis on the cities of Rahway and Cranford.

The U.S Army Corps of Engineers New York District, in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection announces two public information meetings in Union County, NJ in January to discuss the Draft Integrated Feasibility Report (DIFR) and Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for the Rahway River Flood Risk Management Study. The 45 day public comment period for the DIFR and EIS was initiated on December 9, 2016 and has been extended until February 7, 2017, to provide residents additional opportunity for feedback.

7:00 to 7:30 p.m. – Welcome and Poster Board Viewing
7:30 to 8:00 p.m. – Formal Informational Presentation
8:00 to 9:00 p.m. –Poster Board Session and Information Exchange
This DIFR and EIS has been prepared to document the formulation and evaluation of plans to address flooding problems in the Rahway River Basin and the significance of potential environmental impacts of the Tentatively Selected Plan (TSP) recommended in the report.
