Improper Payments Elimination Act (IPERA)

In July 2010, the President signed into law the IPERA, which requires each inspector general to review improper payment reporting in their agency’s annual Performance and Accountability Report (PAR) to determine its compliance. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) recommends that the IG submit a short letter to the agency head, Congress, OMB and the Government Accountability Office 120 days after the issuance date of the PAR.

These letters are available to be downloaded onto your computer in PDF format.

Semiannual Reports

The Inspector General Act of 1978, as amended, requires each Inspector General to prepare a Semiannual Report summarizing the activities of the Office of Inspector General for the six months ending March 31 and September 30 of each year.  This report is submitted to the Chairman by April 30 and October 31 of each year who then transmits it to Congress together with management's report on the status of audit recommendations.

These reports are available to be downloaded onto your computer in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format.
