Ralph J. and Carol M. Cicerone Endowment
for NAS Missions

Announced at the NAS Annual Meeting, the Ralph J. and Carol M. Cicerone Endowment Fund will strengthen the Academy and provide future NAS presidents with unrestricted resources to flexibly respond to immediate and long-term issues.

Cicerone Fund Quote The Endowment will:

Allow NAS to provide timely leadership on emerging, cutting-edge issues in science through new programs and policy studies.
"Help underpin the Academy’s roles: to validate scientific excellence; enhance the vitality of the scientific enterprise; guide public policy with science; and communicate the nature, values, and judgments of science to government and the public.“—Ralph Cicerone

Double the Impact of Your Gift

The overall fundraising goal is $20 million. To help us reach this goal, the Simons Foundation has graciously issued a $10 million challenge gift to inspire and encourage others to invest in the future of science in America.

Your gift, pledge or bequest to the endowment will be matched and will initiate new projects and leverage other funding on urgent scientific activities. Your support not only honors the Cicerones, but also strengthens the foundation for the Academy's future.
