Cmdr. Michael Lawrence, force judge advocate, and Chief Legalman (EXW/IUSS) Rebecca Miles, force legalman, congratulate Mr. Edward Nixon, center, upon his retirement on January 31. Nixon culminated over 46 years of service in the Federal government, where he was paralegal specialist in the Commander, Submarine Forces / Submarine Force Atlantic Force Judge Advocate's Office since December 1999.

Congratulations to Navy Reserve Naval Justice School! Capt. Christian Fleming, previous commanding officer of the Navy Reserve Naval Justice School, accepts the Gilbert Cup award for the country's best Reserve law program unit. Rear. Adm. Carol M. Lynch, deputy judge advocate general (Reserve affairs and operations) and Capt. Barry Blankfield, a member of the Reserve awards board - as well as Rear Adm. John Hannink, deputy judge advocate general, who joined the ceremony remotely from Washington, D.C. - to present the award. The cup is named after Rear Adm. Gerald (Jerry) Gilbert who donated the cup after serving as deputy judge advocate general (Reserve affairs and operations) from 1988 to 1992.

'U.S. Marine Corps Col. Dan Lecce presents Ms. Joyce Cox a Flag Letter of Commendation, Retirement Certificate, and 40 Year Service Certificate prior to her retirement on Jan. 31.  Cox has been a member of the Appellate Defense Division (Code 45) since 2002 and served in the Federal government for over 44 years.'
