  • Polio in Burma (Myanmar) December 21, 2015 Burma has reported 2 cases of vaccine-derived polio, which can develop and circulate in areas with low vaccination coverage where oral polio vaccine (OPV) is used.   • Polio in Madagascar November 03, 2015 According to the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, Madagascar has reported 9 cases of vaccine-derived polio. CDC recommends that all travelers to Madagascar be fully vaccinated against polio. In addition, adults who have been fully vaccinated should receive a single lifetime booster dose of polio vaccine.   • Polio in Laos November 03, 2015 On October 8, 2015, the government of Laos notified the World Health Organization of a case of vaccine-derived polio.   • Measles in Romania November 10, 2016 A measles outbreak has been reported in Romania. CDC recommends that travelers to Romania protect themselves by making sure they are vaccinated against measles, particularly infants 6–11 months of age (1 dose of measles vaccine) and children 12 months of age or older (2 doses of measles vaccine).   • Chikungunya in the Caribbean November 07, 2016 In December 2013, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported cases of chikungunya in Saint Martin. Additional cases were reported in other islands in the Caribbean. This is the first time that local transmission of chikungunya has been reported in the Americas.
