EOIR Observes Its 30th Anniversary
2013 marked the 30th anniversary of the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR). EOIR was formally created on January 9, 1983, although its functions predate the agency. Over the last 30 years, through dedication and hard work, we have evolved into an agency that plays a critical role in administering our Nation's immigration laws. Throughout the agency's tenure, we have risen to the challenges of implementing new immigration laws and managing a formidable workload while faithfully executing our mission of ensuring fairness and due process for all.
