The Cultural Affairs Office facilitates U.S.-China institutional linkages in the cultural and educational fields and promotes a wide variety of American music, art, dance, film, and literature throughout China. In Beijing, the Beijing American Center (BAC) hosts a variety of lectures, discussions, movie screenings and workshops on subjects of mutual benefit to Chinese and American interests. The Cultural Affairs Office also manages a wide range of U.S. government-sponsored academic and professional development exchanges programs for Chinese citizens, including the International Visitor Leadership Program Exchange (IVLP), the US-China Fulbright Program, the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program and the Voluntary Visitor Program.
