CDRH Offices: Office of Communication and Education

We are the Office of Communication and Education. Our mission is to collaboratively support CDRH and the FDA in assuring the safety and effectiveness of medical devices and radiation-emitting electronic products. We accomplish this by developing and facilitating public communication, educating the industry we regulate, and providing CDRH employees with the information and training they need to be successful.

We serve and collaborate with patients and consumers, health care professionals, industry, and domestic and foreign governments to improve health outcomes through:

• communicating risk and benefit information about medical devices and radiation-emitting electronic products;
• providing regulated industries with the regulatory and policy information they need to bring new products to market and remain in compliance with FDA laws;
• educating CDRH employees to achieve workforce excellence; and
• responding to public requests for information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
