Basel Committee on Banking Supervision - overview

The Basel Committee on Banking Supervision provides a forum for regular cooperation on banking supervisory matters. Its objective is to enhance understanding of key supervisory issues and improve the quality of banking supervision worldwide.

Basel III is a comprehensive set of reform measures, developed by the BCBS, to strengthen the regulation, supervision and risk managment of the banking sector. The implementation of the Basel standards is monitored.
