For over 60 years, our mission has been: "to help people gain understanding, acquire knowledge, and develop skills for living in a globally interdependent and culturally diverse world." We develop and administer programs, advocate for the advancement of international education, and build knowledge through CIEE research, publications, and conferences.
For U.S. students, faculty, and administrators, CIEE offers programs including study abroad, teach abroad, and faculty development seminars. HAESF
The Hungarian-American Enterprise Scholarship Fund's (HAESF) objective is to create opportunities for accomplished Hungarians to gain professional experience in the U.S. Scholarships include the Professional Internship Program for young professionals, the Graduate Scholarship for recent graduates, Senior Leaders & Scholars Fellowship and the Executive Education Program for mid to senior-level professionals. CIEE is responsible for the administration, management, and support for the program.
BAFF
The Baltic-American Freedom Foundation (BAFF) offers various scholarship opportunities in the U.S. to residents of Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia on the Professional Internship Program for university students and recent graduates, the Graduate Scholarship Program for post graduate students, and the Research Scholarship Program for professors and others in academia. CIEE is responsible for the administration, management, and program support for the prestigious BAFF Scholarship programs.
SAF
The Slovak-American Foundation (SAF) allows Slovaks to work in the U.S. and gain knowledge and international work experience on a full scholarship. Scholarships include the Professional Internship Program for students and recent graduates, and the Research Scholarship Program for academic and research-oriented professionals. CIEE is responsible for the administration, management, and program support for the prestigious SAF Scholarship programs.

International Faculty Development Seminars (IFDS) are in-depth encounters with people, places, and issues that shape our world. Expect one to two intensive weeks of lectures by local faculty & experts from prestigious institutions, site visits that illuminate ideas explored in lectures, and opportunities to contribute to lively discussions with international colleagues.
High School & Gap Year Students
CIEE High School and Gap Year Abroad programs provide U.S. high school students and recent high school graduates with an unforgettable international experience. These programs allow U.S high school students and recent high school graduates to study abroad, to live with a native host family, work abroad, and/or volunteer, and to challenge themselves on a new level by becoming fully immersed in a language and a new culture. U.S. College Students
CIEE has been sending students abroad since 1947; since the late 1960s we have been developing our own study abroad programs around the world. Today we offer more than 150 programs in 41 countries in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. Students can choose to spend a semester, year, or summer abroad studying subjects ranging from architecture, business, language study, and everything in between.
USA High School
The CIEE USA High School program brings over 1,400 international students to communities across the U.S. each year. With over 63 years of experience in international education, CIEE is the largest and longest running sponsor of exchange programs in the U.S. During your time in the U.S., you will experience all that the American culture has to offer-living with a host family, attending a U.S. high school, joining a sports team or after school club, and volunteering in the local community.
USA High School Plus
The USA High School Plus Program offers international students ages 14-19 unparalleled access to some of the most prestigious secondary schools in the U.S. for a semester, a year, up to all four years of study on the F-1 visa. CIEE has partnered with several elite private day schools, boarding schools, and parochial schools. Many students wish to remain in the U.S. for university, and attending a private school will ensure the student is well prepared for university-level studies.
Congress-Bundestag Scholarship
Jointly funded by the German Bundestag and the U.S. Congress, the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange Program (CBYX) is a full scholarship exchange that offers young Americans the opportunity to live with a host family and attend high school in Germany for a year. 50 students are chosen each year to represent the Southeast United States as a CBYX youth ambassador. Students become fluent in German, learn another culture, and expand your horizons to the world!
Hometown USA
Hometown USA is an all inclusive immersive summer language and culture camp for international high school students at any language level for two or four weeks in July and August. Students stay in a U.S.-style village, taking intensive English language lessons combined with immersion activities. Staff-to-student ratio if 5-to-1, creating a safe, educational, and fun language-learning environment!
South Korea Scholarship
CIEE has partnered with the Korea Foundation to offer a the South Korea Scholarship to 100 American high school students for two weeks every summer and 75 university students for one week each spring. What is referred to in South Korea as the Korea-US Youth Network, this program is a short-term cultural exchange for students to learn about Korean culture and customs firsthand by experiencing Korean culture, language, customs and daily life.

Local Coordinators (LCs) for the USA High School program are the face of CIEE in their communities across the U.S. LCs find host families and schools in their area and match them with CIEE international students, providing personal and local support that is invaluable for all parties involved.
