System requirements

There are certain device requirements to run Explorer, as well as requirements on the data used within the app.

Data requirements

To use your maps in Explorer, you must have an ArcGIS organizational account. Your maps can include data from ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS, and ArcGIS for Server.

iOS

  • Version 7 or later
  • iPad, iPhone, iPod touch

Mac

  • OS X Mavericks (10.9) or later

Supported languages

Arabic, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.

The language used by the app is determined by your device's language setting.

Explorer for ArcGIS 10.2.5 was released in August 2014. It includes various bug fixes.

Explorer for ArcGIS 10.2.4 was released in July 2014. It includes the following enhancements:

  • Support for time-aware maps.
  • Localized into Arabic, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal), Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Swedish, and Turkish.
  • Various bug fixes and improvements.

Mac

Explorer for ArcGIS 10.2.4 was released in September 2014. It includes the following enhancements:
