United States Advisory Council on Human Trafficking Annual ReportThe U.S. Advisory Council was established by the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act in May 2015 and provides a formal platform for trafficking survivors to advise and make recommendations on federal anti-trafficking policies to the President’s Interagency Task Force to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons. The Report was written by eleven members of the Council, all of whom were appointed by President Obama in December 2015 to serve on the first U.S. Advisory Council on Human Trafficking. Each member is a survivor of human trafficking, and together they represent a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences. The Report contains specific policy recommendations, providing the federal government with survivor-informed analysis to combat human trafficking. |
