Rabies Quarantine Facilities

The Texas Department of Health (TDH) is responsible for approving plans for rabies quarantine facilities and inspecting rabies quarantine facilities in Texas to see if they meet the standards for housing and sanitation set by the Texas Board of Health in Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 169, Rabies Control and Eradication (Rabies Control Act, Chapter 826). Additionally, although they are not inspected by the TDH, impoundment facilities in Texas must also meet these standards.
