RMA Mobile
RMA Mobile is a native app available for iOS (Apple) and Android (Google Play enabled) devices. Initially, the app compliments RMA’s web-based Crop Insurance Decision Tool. It is an educational tool to help agents and producers understand how the Supplemental Coverage Option (SCO) and Stacked Income Protection Plan (STAX) interact with traditional crop insurance. RMA Mobile is a first step tool for producers in making risk management decisions with their crop insurance agent.
The tool simulates various general insurance coverage choices producers must make on how their bottom line may be affected. The tool provides general dollar amounts for protection, producer premium and subsidy amount. The tool pre-loads data so that once initially downloaded, no internet connection is required.
RMA developed the Crop Insurance Decision Tool and complimentary RMA Mobile tool to educate the stakeholders about a complex 2014 Farm Bill and its signature crop insurance products of SCO and STAX. These tools provide platforms in which to engage in future development for producer education and communication for producers making Federal crop insurance choices.
RMA will make iterative Improvements based on user feedback for the decision tool.
Users are encouraged to utilize RMA Mobile’s feedback feature for providing additional items for RMA to consider in future development. Other RMA applications may be included in the future to add simplified or offline capabilities.
RMA Mobile can be found in the Apple App Store for iOS based hardware and in the Google Play Store for Android. It is free to download the RMA Mobile app.
