2014 Tenure, Ownership, and Transition of Agricultural Land (TOTAL)

The 2014 Tenure, Ownership, and Transition of Agricultural Land (TOTAL) Survey is a comprehensive study of all land, including non-operator landlords of agricultural land. This survey is a part of the Census of Agriculture program. The TOTAL survey contains information about farmers and ranchers who rent agricultural land to other farmers and ranchers, as well as agricultural landlords who do not farm. The survey provides detailed information on agricultural landlord and land owner’s acres rented out, income, expenses, debt, assets, demographic information, and land transfer plans.
