Law Enforcement Training
Hundreds of law enforcement patches line the walls outside the Jimmy Ryce Law Enforcement Training Center in Alexandria, Va. NCMEC trains thousands of officers from around the country.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children® is committed to provide training, technical assistance and resources at no cost to law enforcement personnel and others who investigate cases of crimes committed against children, specifically cases of missing children and child sexual exploitation.
NCMEC hosts traditional classroom training sessions at its headquarters in Alexandria, Va., in the Jimmy Ryce Law Enforcement Training Center. Online courses are available through NCMEC's distance learning program, NCMEC University Online.
In addition to providing law enforcement with the investigative skills needed to respond to missing and sexually exploited children cases, NCMEC provides healthcare professionals training regarding the prevention of and response to infant abductions. As of January 2017 NCMEC has trained more than 331,000 law enforcement, criminal/juvenile justice and private security professionals.

NCMEC University Online
This distance learning program provides participants with access to all available courses covering the issues related to missing and exploited children cases.
Missing Children Seminar for Chief Executives
This two day seminar familiarizes participants with issues related to missing children cases including sound policies and practices, technical assistance, training and available resources.
Exploited Children Seminar for Chief Executives
This two day seminar familiarizes participants with issues related to exploited child cases including effective policies and practices, technical assistance, training and available resources.
Forensic Imaging Training
NCMEC offers a one week training course in forensic imaging techniques. The course is offered free of charge to law enforcement artists and individuals who have a contractual relationship with a recognized law enforcement agency.
Advanced Forensic Imaging Workshop
This 40-hour course is designed for forensic artists on the topic of advanced methods in forensic facial reconstructions. The objective of this course is to learn advanced methods and techniques in clay sculpture for the facial reconstructions of long term unidentified person cases.
Child Sex Trafficking: Awareness & Response (CSTAR)
This three day training focuses on the multitude of issues regarding child sex trafficking cases and the unique dynamics associated with this population.
Missing Children: Dynamics & Response
This one day seminar provides critical information to those officers and investigators who will respond to a missing child report.
Missing & Exploited Children: What Security Professionals Need to Know
This training provides critical information
for security professionals to help them recognize, observe, and properly report incidents or circumstances of missing, abducted and/or sexually exploited children.
Telecommunications Best Practices for Missing and Abducted Children
This online course is designed to provide public safety telecommunicators, calltakers and dispatchers with the tools and training needed to promote swift and decisive responses in the critical, early stages of missing and abducted child cases.
