Former Obama Staffer Dazzles Shanghai Audiences

Dec. 7-8, Shanghai – Kevin Xu, a law student at Stanford University and former press assistant to President Obama, delivered three well-received presentations on his time at the White House to audiences across Shanghai.  Xu, who was born in Shenyang and speaks fluent Mandarin, shared stories about working on Obama’s first campaign and what it was like to be a staffer responsible for supporting the President’s Press Secretary.  The higher-than-expected attendance at the talks, which took place at community space Rensheng Dabutong, NYU-Shanghai, and the Shanghai American Center, shows that there is still substantial curiosity about the American political system in the district. Xu also joined EducationUSA Advisor Xie Pianpian for a talk about U.S. law schools.
