BRAC, which stands for Base Realignment and Closure, is the congressionally authorized process DoD has used to reorganize its base structure to more efficiently and effectively support our forces, increase operational readiness and facilitate new ways of doing business.

The BRAC Commission recommendations for reshaping the Defense Department's infrastructure and force structure became official on November 9, 2005 and are available at www.brac.gov/finalreport.html.

Section 2907 Report


Section 2831 of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2006 amended section 2907 of the BRAC Act by adding new reporting requirements pertaining to: actions performed since closure was approved.

The Base Redevelopment and Realignment Manual (BRRM)


The Base Redevelopment and Realignment Manual (BRRM), DoD 4165.66-M, describes the "process" that will be followed in implementing the BRAC 2005 recommendations. It has been updated to reflect statute.
