On this date in weather history...In 2002, a 30 mile wide band of heavy rain stretched from Huntington on northeast, toward Spencer, Burnsville, and Buckhannon. The rainband persisted over a 30 hour period. The Huntington airport measured 3.6 inches. Spencer had 2.6 inches, Spring Creek flooded sections of Spencer. The Little Kanawha crested near 27 feet at Glenville. This flooding event carried over into the 21st of March.
