The Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management has numerous and diverse responsibilities. Our ultimate mission is to remove environmental contamination to improve safety for local employees and residents and open land for future uses. Site cleanup is essential to remove risks and hazards at the site. In addition, removing facilities and legacy materials creates waste, and we must ensure waste is properly processed, disposed, and managed.

However, to accomplish any of these tasks, we need program management to ensure the work is accomplished safely and in an efficient and financially responsible manner. Our employees provide direction and oversight for thousands of contractor employees performing activities at our cleanup sites. Finally, our office aims to have the highest level of transparency and collaboration with local stakeholders. Community engagement is crucial in forging this relationship, and we strive to host events and release timely news to keep our local stakeholders informed and involved.
