Under the Basel Convention, technical assistance is provided to developing country parties and parties with economies in transition in order to assist them in building their capacity (human resources, policy, legal and institutional frameworks) to fulfill their obligations in protecting human health and the environment from hazardous and other wastes.
Technical assistance is delivered through face-to-face and online training, partnerships as well as through the 14 Regional Centres for capacity-building and technology transfer. Technical assistance is provided upon request and according to the specific needs of the parties.
