Miles of nature trails, a canopy walk and tree tower offer many exciting opportunities to enjoy and explore this biologically rich refuge.  

The Nature Tram is a great way to see the refuge, the "Jewel of the National Wildlife Refuge System" and a piece of living history.  The comfortable tram is led by knowledgeable guides and stops at the historic cemetery and the observation tower.

Enjoy photographing species you will not find anywhere but the most Southern tip of Texas.  Green jays, kiskadees, chachalacas and malachite butterflies make great subjects!
