  • Creating a Transit Master Plan For Orange County

In the coming decades, public transit is expected to have an increasing role in Orange County. Changes in demographics, environmental policy, and development will require additional transportation options for residents, employees, and visitors. Travel in Orange County is primarily by car, but what if you had some convenient and affordable transit options to get to work or to enjoy a day out? We want you to help OCTA shape the future of public transit in Orange County.

To proactively plan for the future, OCTA is developing a comprehensive Transit Master Plan (TMP), which will be an integrated bus, rail, and paratransit plan. The TMP will serve as a vision for Orange County’s transit future, taking a high-level look at long-term transit needs throughout the County as well as important connections to transit projects from other local transit agencies. The TMP also will identify a series of corridors that could lead to smoother, more efficient journeys on public transportation options like bus rapid transit and fixed-guideway alternatives such as streetcars.

Your ideas are essential to create a vision that serves the needs of the people while reflecting the transit potential of Orange County. As we develop the TMP, there will be several opportunities for the general public and transportation stakeholders to participate when transit options are prioritized and transit opportunity corridors are developed. Visit here to receive updates about future online surveys and public open houses.

Thank you for helping to create a positive future for Orange County.

We want to hear from you! Take this quick online survey and tell us how you would envision Orange County’s transit system in the future. Expanded or enhanced bus service? More rail? New rideshare options? Tell us what you think!

As we develop the TMP, there will be several opportunities for the public to participate when transit options are prioritized and transit opportunity corridors are developed. Click here to receive updates about future online surveys and public open houses.
