4 Dayton school districts among 50 best in Ohio

The Dayton region has a vibrant education backbone. That can again be seen in a new ranking.

Niche.com has unveiled its list of 2017 Best School Districts in Ohio, and four of the top 50 are in the Dayton region, as well as 16 in the top 100.

The ranking is based on analysis of key statistics and millions of reviews from students and parents using data from the U.S. Department of Education. Ranking factors include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, SAT/ACT scores, teacher quality, public school district ratings and more.

The top-ranked school district in the region was determined to be Centerville City Schools District, which ranked No. 16 in the state.

Other districts in the top 50 were:

  • Oakwood City School District (No. 26);
  • Kettering City School District (No. 46); and
  • Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Local School District (No. 49).

Other districts in the top 100 include:

Lakota Local School District (No. 53), Beavercreek City School District (No. 63), Springboro Community City School District (No. 68), Lebanon City School District (No. 69), Cedarcliff Local School District (No. 75), Yellow Springs Exempted Village School District (No. 79), Versailles Exempted Village School District (No. 81), Russia Local School District (No. 87), Tipp City Exempted Village School District (No. 88), Talawanda City School District (No. 92), Clark-Shawnee Local School District (No. 94) and Botkins Local School District (No. 96).

The No. 1 spot on the list went to Solon City School District.
