  Remediation / Site Clean-Up

Contaminated sites can impact the quality of our land, groundwater, surface water and air. The Remediation Division oversees the investigation and remediation of environmental contamination and the redevelopment of contaminated properties. Our goal is to clean up contaminated sites to meet Connecticut’s Remediation Standard Regulations, which ensure that human health and the environment are protected. The Remediation Division staff, along with the help of Licensed Environmental Professionals (LEPs), oversee the cleanup of hundreds of contaminated sites across Connecticut in the context of the following programs:

Brownfields and Urban Sites
Property Transfer Program
Voluntary Remediation Program
State Superfund Program
Federal Superfund Program
RCRA Closure and Corrective Action
Underground Storage Tank Clean-up Program
Significant Environmental Hazard Program
Potable Water Program
