Environmental Health
The Environmental Health Division coordinates activities with federal, state, regional, county, and city agencies when planning and implementing environmental health programs. Such programs involve:
- Control of toxic materials
- Housing conditions
- Nuisance complaints

- Protection of food and water supply
- Public bathing areas
- Sewage and solid waste

Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Environmental Health Division are to prevent public health hazards in our environment and to ensure the safety of the water that we drink and the food that we eat. To do this, the division implements and coordinates a number of interrelated programs.
These programs provide a complete protection program through:
- Conducting workshops and seminars
- Investigations and inspections
- Preparing and distributing information to the public
- Working with the public to solve problems
