NAVAIR to showcase key aircraft platforms at UK’s Farnborough Airshow in July

NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, PATUXENT RIVER, Md. — Naval aviation officials from the F/A-18 and EA-18G Program Office (PMA-265), as well as the Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft Program Office (PMA-290), will conduct media briefings July 14 to 20 at the Farnborough International Airshow (FIA) in the United Kingdom.

WHAT: Program managers from the F/A-18 Super Hornet, EA-18G Growler and the P-8A Poseidon aircraft will highlight their people, products and platforms at media briefs and interviews during the U.K. airshow.

WHO: Capt Frank Morley, program manager for the F/A-18 and EA-18G Program Office (PMA-265); Capt Scott Dillon, program manager for the Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Program Office (PMA-290).

WHEN: July 15
9 a.m. – P-8A Poseidon
10 a.m. – F/A-18 and EA-18G

WHERE: Farnborough International Airshow Media Centre Hatfield Room located in Hall 1 opposite Gate B on the left.

The Farnborough International Airshow offers an international platform for military sales, which support U.S. national security interests, including force multiplication; political access and influence and economic benefits of shared development. One of the world’s leading aerospace trade shows, the FIA attracted more than 100,000 visitors, 39 countries and 153 aircraft when it was last held in 2012, according to the event’s website.

PACIFIC OCEAN (June 20, 2014) Sailors transport an EA-18G Growler assigned to the Gauntlets of Electronic Attack Squadron (VAQ) 136 onto an aircraft elevator aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76). Ronald Reagan is en route to Hawaii for Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2014. Twenty-three nations, more than 40 ships and submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in the biennial RIMPAC exercise from June 26 to Aug. 1.
