Biological Resources Ad Hoc Committee

On July 2, 2013, the Board of Supervisors established the Biological Resources Ad Hoc Committee to prepare the following for consideration by the Board:

1. Revisions to the Biological Resources Section of the Conservation and Open Space Element of the Tuolumne County General Plan to modify Policy 4.J.2 and Implementation Program 4.J.a to eliminate use of the Tuolumne County Wildlife Handbook and program for preparation of a Biological Resources Conservation Handbook and to modify other policies and programs to reflect recent decisions by the Board to mitigate impacts to biological resources from land development projects;

2. Oak woodland policies for inclusion in the Biological Resources Section of the Conservation and Open Space Element of the General Plan; and

3. Thresholds of significance under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) regarding impacts to biological resources.

The Board of Supervisors appointed seven members to the Biological Resources Ad Hoc Committee at its meeting on July 16, 2013. The Committee met eleven times from August 19, 2013 to March 17, 2014.

At its meeting on March 17, 2014, the Biological Resources Ad Hoc Committee recommended revisions to the Biological Resources Section of the Natural Resources Element for inclusion in the General Plan Update to the Board of Supervisors. At its meeting on April 1, 2014, the Board of Supervisors accepted the recommendation of the Biological Resources Ad Hoc Committee with minor revisions and directed that the revisions to the Biological Resources Section be included in the General Plan Update.
