The Joint Hazard Classification System (JHCS) is the official DOD database of final hazard classification data for the military services' ammunition and explosives. It is maintained by USATCES and is updated on a frequent basis. Explosive items are evaluated and tri-service coordinated between hazard classifiers for the Army, Navy, and Air Force following procedures in TB 700-2/NAVSEAINST 8020.8B/TO 11A-1-47/DLAR 8220.1, Department of Defense Ammunition and Explosives Hazard Classification System.
