Area of Responsibility includes: Columbia River from Puget Island (river mile 50) to the Bonneville Dam and Willamette River from mouth to Willamette Falls.

Coast Guard Station Portland is located at Swan Island Basin on the lower Willamette River. Station Portland shares the base with Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Portland and moorings with Coast Guard Cutter BLUEBELL.

The station has five 29 foot second generation Defender class response boat (29'-RBS II). The 29 foot RBS-II is designed as a multi-mission capable boat. Missions include search and rescue and maritime law enforcement.
