Project templates

Project templates help you create a new project. A template includes different aspects of an ArcGIS project that are important to complete a specific task or achieve a specific goal. For example, a template can include connections to folders, databases, and servers; a template can provide either complete datasets or schema-only data definitions; and a template can deliver organizational standard layouts and styles to the teams who need them.

Some basic templates are provided with ArcGIS Pro to help you get started. Other templates are provided by different ArcGIS communities and organizations. The ArcGIS Pro application's start page features some of these templates. You can create your own project templates and share them with others in your organization.

A project template is fundamentally a type of project package.
