Director, Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs

Christopher Clark Deschene (Navajo Nation) is the director of the Office of Indian Energy. Mr. Deschene has more than 20 years of management and policy experience, along with extensive tribal relationships and deep expertise in business and energy development, natural resources, and environmental policies, federal Indian law, and government affairs.

David F. Conrad
Deputy Director, Office of Indian Energy Policy and Programs

David F. Conrad serves as the deputy director for the Office of Indian Energy. He previously served as director for DOE's Tribal and Intergovernmental Affairs in the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs, where he was responsible for intergovernmental affairs with tribal, city, and county governments.

Givey Kochanowski
Program Manager, Alaska

Givey Kochanowski is the Alaska program manager for the Office of Indian Energy. Stationed in Anchorage, Alaska, he is responsible for the support and delivery of DOE technical assistance, capacity building, energy education, and outreach to all Alaskan tribal entities. Mr. Kochanowski is a champion for tribal needs through the various organizational boards on which he serves, ranging from the Alaska Federal Executive Association to the National Defense Transportation Association’s North Pole Chapter. Lizana Pierce
Program Manager

Lizana Pierce works in DOE’s Golden Field Office in Colorado and is responsible for implementing national funding and financing programs and administering the resultant tribal energy project grants and agreements. She has more than 20 years of clean energy technology, project development, and management experience assisting tribes in developing their energy resources and building their energy visions.
