If you have a question about the state's environment, you can contact the Indiana Department of Environmental Management by phone, by regular mail or by e-mail. If you see something that should not be in the water or on the land, you can call the Environmental Emergency line 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The IDEM Central Office is open from 8:15 AM to 4:45 PM, Monday through Friday (except on scheduled holidays).
All visitors to the Indiana Government Center North must use the East bay elevators and check in at the reception desk located on the 13th floor.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) Office of Records Management (ORM) (formerly known as the IDEM Central File Room and the Public Records Office) provides information to records requests according to the Access to Public Records Act (IC 5-14-3 et seq.) IDEM offers internet access to many IDEM public records through the Virtual File Cabinet (VFC). Visitors to ORM may use the public access computers to view agency records, including those located in the ULCERS database.
You are also able to contact ORM to submit a records request, inspect records, have records copied or receive assistance using the VFC:

ORM is open Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (EST), with the exception of Indiana State Holidays.
IDEM provides a detailed regional inspectors and contact map for its inspection and permitting programs. Use the IDEM Field Staff Service Areas map to find an inspector or permit writer for your county / region.
As a general rule, e-mail addresses are composed of the first letter of the name, followed by the first seven letters of the last name, followed by @idem.in.gov.
