The Springfield Service Center opens at its new location at 1250 St. James Avenue on Monday, January 23rd, 2017.  All RMV services, including road test appointments and hearings, will be served from the new location.

Customers with expiring registrations in December that have processed their renewal applications are active in the RMV database, but may not have yet received their Certificate of Registration and expiration decal.  Customers may check the status of their registration (https://secure.rmv.state.ma.us/RegInquiry/intro.aspx).  We apologize for any inconvenience and have notified law enforcement.

  • On March 30, 2016, Governor Baker signed into law "An Act Relative to Motor Vehicle License Suspension" making operators with certain prior drug convictions eligible for immediate license reinstatement. For more information on how impacted customers may begin the license reinstatement process, please see the suspensions section of MassRMV.com. Each customer's reinstatement requirements will be different and will be based on the individual's record. The RMV is mailing individualized letters to certain impacted customers on their specific reinstatement steps and requirements.  All persons who believe they are eligible for relief under this new law should update their address with the RMV immediately.
