Project Development Technical Assistance Options

Third-party independent review 

An independent look at existing reports, studies, financing structures, proposals, and other energy project documents. 

Technology options advice

Recommendations from national laboratory subject matter experts with real-world experience in clean energy technology deployment. 

Modeling and analysis

Financial modeling for payback periods, net present value (NPV), and levelized cost of energy (LCOE); building modeling for energy and cost savings; renewable energy resource and generation modeling for a specific project; cybersecurity assessment; microgrid modeling and assessment; or transmission modeling for utility- or commercial-scale projects. This option may also include assistance with using available modeling/analysis tools.

Interconnection agreement facilitation

Information on impact studies and finding technical solutions to grid integration. 

Economic evaluation

Economic assessment of a specific project, including payback periods, NPV, and LCOE.

System design review

National laboratory engineers provide third-party reviews of system design, engineering, and technical drawings and make recommendations based on best practices and industry standards.
